Awake
interactive installation, Seoul Foundation for Arts and Culture, _ Yujin Arcade October 2018
"Awake - Break the Silence" is designed to free modern people who lose their mental values for a moment. They lost it to the endless opaque futures and countless pressures on themselves, which is similar to a feeling of passing through a tunnel. In order to liberate them from the oppressed state, you have to act for change, and the work induces such behavior and elicits interaction.
We noted the freedom of shouting with all our might among various actions, and produced two interactive installations using sound. In the video of Gwanghwamun Square, where various people pass by, all kinds of dizzy and dirty glitch sauce are synthesized and displayed on the screen. Meantime, the audience shouts as much as they can to escape from the noisy world. Then it is followed by the video of an utopia world which they dream of, peaceful and relaxed, is played. The second work is a work that uses a camera to illuminate the audience in a daily exhibition space. Once again, when the audience makes a sound, a colored glitch and blusher that break the reality are added to make the place where they exist an unrealistic space. These are metaphors that, as the title suggests, the moment we break the silence and become free; We can go to an unrealistic utopia space that we dream of.
